Ahoy there me Hearties! Shiver me timbers – it’s Swashbucklin’ Saturday !

 

Batten down the hatches ye bilge-sucking scurvy dogs – all ye Pirates get yourselves down in pirate costume to our Grand Piratical Launch of Pageturners Children’s Book Festival!!

Bring along your pirate crew of mums and dads and carers – making sure they’s too all be dressed in pirate gear mind  - to enjoy a morning of sea-faring tales, pirate training, pirate pledges and Jolly Roger crafts – one lucky Buccaneer will win booty in the form of a Treasure Chest of wondrous prize loot!

The Festival will opened by the Mayor of Calderdale at 10am on Saturday 8 March at the Central Children’s Library, Halifax followed by games and stories, a Treasure Trail down to Eureka – and more fun!  Bring along your Pirate Picnic! 

The event ends at 1pm – families are welcome to go either into Eureka! (admission cost) or up to Bankfield Museum to the free Pirates & Pistols Exhibition based on the work of local children’s author Chris Mould.
